About The Songwriter Workshop

Where Creativity, Craft, and Calling Come Together

The disciplines of creative work cross boundaries. The same principles that help a songwriter shape a compelling lyric can help a worship leader communicate more clearly. The same listening skills that strengthen a recording session can transform a rehearsal. The same habits that help an artist find an authentic voice can help a church team create and lead with greater purpose. The Songwriter Workshop exists at that intersection. We help songwriters, worship leaders, and creative teams develop their craft, strengthen their creativity, and grow as collaborators and leaders. Some of our teaching is designed for anyone who writes or creates music. Some speaks directly to worship leaders and teams serving the local church. Underneath it all is one conviction:

Whatever the setting, meaningful creative work requires both inspiration and discipline.

Our Mission:

To equip creative people with practical, experience-based training that helps them write, create, collaborate, and lead well.
That includes helping songwriters:
* Develop their individual voice
* Strengthen their lyrics, melodies, and song structures
* Turn unfinished ideas into completed songs
* Collaborate generously and effectively
* Build sustainable creative habits
It also includes helping worship leaders and church teams:
* Develop confident musicians, vocalists, and songwriters
* Lead healthy and productive rehearsals
* Build stronger creative cultures
* Raise up future leaders
* Serve their churches with skill, humility, and purpose

These are not separate worlds.
They draw upon many of the same creative, musical, and relational disciplines.

Why We Exist

For more than four decades, I’ve moved freely between the secular and the sacred—as a songwriter, artist, musician, producer, educator, and worship leader. I’ve worked in writing rooms, recording studios, concert venues, classrooms, and local churches. Each setting has shaped the way I understand creativity.
The details may change, but the foundations remain remarkably consistent: listen carefully, serve the song, respect the people in the room, develop your craft, and remain open to discovery.

The Songwriter Workshop was created to pass those lessons on.
It is a place for songwriters who want to find their voice and write stronger songs. It is also a place for worship leaders and teams who want to grow creatively, musically, and relationally.

Find Your Place

Whether you’re developing your own songs, leading a worship ministry, or building a healthier and more creative church team, there is a pathway designed for you.

Come strengthen your craft, expand your creative thinking, and discover what becomes possible when inspiration is supported by discipline.

Meet Chris

Hi, I'm Chris Falson. I've spent more than four decades working as a musician, songwriter, producer and worship leader. During that time, I’ve written hundreds of songs, produced artists, toured internationally, and contributed to projects across the music industry, film and television, education, and the local church.

Moving between those different worlds has shown me that good creative work is rarely an accident. It grows from curiosity, discipline, collaboration, courage, and a willingness to keep learning.

But what excites me most today isn't standing on stage. It's helping other people grow.

Through years of serving in local churches I've discovered that great worship teams aren't built on talent alone. They're built through mentoring, healthy culture, preparation, servanthood and a commitment to continually learning.

That's why I've created this academy. Everything inside it is designed to help worship leaders, musicians, singers and creative teams become more confident, more capable and more effective in serving their local church.

My courses draw from decades of experience in the music and film industries, along with years serving and building teams within the local church.

Whether we are talking about songwriting, production, worship leadership, team building, or creativity itself, my passion is helping people move from raw potential to practiced skill..
